Dreaming
Amidst the depths of sleep's embrace,
Your presence fills my mind's vast space.
With arms outstretched and heart aglow,
In dreams, our love does brightly show.
In reveries, you're mine to keep,
To hold, to cherish, as I sleep.
A family formed, a bond so true,
In dreams, I am enough for you.
Yet waking brings a different tale,
Where errors made, like endless gale,
Blow harder, making it more tough
To find the path, to rise enough.
In this harsh light of day's demand,
I falter, weak, and can't withstand.
I play a role, but deep within,
I'm drowning in my self-made sin.
I robbed us of the chance to soar,
With futile acts, I closed the door.
In my reality, so stark,
I failed to ignite life's spark.
You, my sunshine in the night,
But I, a nightmare in plain sight.
The cause of tears, of anguish deep,
Inside, I weep, for promises I couldn't keep.
Though yearned for you with all my might,
I couldn't bear the weight of right.
In dreams, I stood prepared, it's true,
But in reality, I'm too askew.
So, in dreams, you're cherished, pure and bright,
But in reality, I'm shrouded in night.
I longed to mend, to make amends,
Yet found myself too broken to transcend.
In dreams, in reality, two worlds apart,
A divide created by my own heart.
For in the realm where dreams take flight,
I'm whole enough to hold you tight.
