I keep my dreams bottled up inside,
Never putting them on display.
I make sure that the bad ones are hidden
And that the good ones will always stay.
I don't know what is worse to me.
To have you taken in a dream
And morning brings peace
Or to not have you in wake
And happy dreams never cease.
To have you ripped from me
By circumstance or by death
And have my heart ripped out
In this dark night's depth.
Or have you ripped from me in waking,
Not knowing when you'll return to me.
Trying to put a positive spin on it,
But get knocked down by this reality.
To be tormented by my happiness
In your dream-self's arms
When you hate me in reality
And wish me all these harms.
Or to be heartbroken and numb
In the dying light of a nightmare
And morning brings distress
And of that danger makes me aware.
My dreams push you away
Usually by me, my own enemy,
But more recently in these dreams
It takes you through the sleep of eternity.
In my dream I know what comes
And I beg you not to go
Or I beg for me to go with you,
But to where I do not know.
Dreams are for the future.
That I've learned before,
But reality was first a dream.
A dream that one couldn't ignore.
