Head full,
mind races.
Close my eyes,
can hear the phrases.
Can see the words,
filling blank spaces.
Holding the pencil,
everything erased is.
Come to mind,
only past failures.
Hard to push aside,
and be courageous.
Listen, the critics,
failure is contagious.
Blood boils,
temper rages.
Tears down my cheeks,
wetting the pages.
I hope my tears are,
success' early stages.
Going through the motions,
among the usual faces.
Wearing the same mask,
I've worn for ages.
Envying them,
happy in their cages.
Giving up,
rest all my cases.
My dreams, just papers,
full of vented frustrations.
