dreamscapes
The sun lingered on my skin, passing through the trees like a kiss of light divided by leaves. A place like home, a place so fresh, the air would hold me as I rest. Vines slithered up trees like my hair on my shoulders; the weight once there no longer felt like boulders. A feeling of calm washed over me like a comforting shower, replaced with leaves. Willow branches covered my head—I could rest my eyes, but I watched you instead.
The sound of waves crashed into the shore, followed by birds chirping more and more. My eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings; I felt like a feather, so light and so free. When the sun started to set, stars sprinkled in your brown eyes like sand in coffee—bitter, but the caffeine made me high. It was the most scenic view I’ve ever endured; it was never reckless, and the rain never poured. With clear skies and a dreamscape view, my eyes never wandered away from you.
