DRIVEN BY THE WIND

Driven by the wind,
A burden I could not explain,
An ache deep within the heart,
A Nebuchadnezzar’s curse, unable to examine.

Some would say it was strange,
How could one act this way?
A man who was once greatly feared
Now left dismayed and led astray.

I once had it all,
The power to command and control.
I was the fearless voodoo man,
Unstoppable, I was on a roll.

I had thousands beneath my rule,
I had influence over people and governments.
Every word that left my mouth was law,
Binding souls in dark agreements.

I was considered the devil's right-hand man;
Even death itself knew my name.
But nothing in this life lasts forever,
Especially when you're playing the devil's game.

My favorite targets were the Christians.
They claimed to pray, yet many lived in sin.
Destroying the faith of even one believer
Was considered a victory and a gain.

One night during our usual gathering,
The old wise one stood and spoke.
He told us of a pastor just arrived,
And warned us this man was no joke.

He asked who would bring him down.
Without hesitation, I volunteered.
I had broken many pastors before,
And left countless churches in ruined and bare

The first thing I did was send evil spirits
To monitor his every move,
Searching daily for a weakness,
Determined I had something to prove.

But to my surprise, there was none.
He was a righteous man living for the Lord,
Walking humbly in obedience,
Standing firm upon His Word.

After months of failure,
I had exhausted every plan.
The wise one began counting my days,
For failure was never accepted amongst the devil's clan.

In that kingdom there was no mercy;
Death was the punishment for defeat.
With no other option before me,
I decided to attack at night; no retreat

That night I entered his house,
But there he was, awaiting me.
I tried every spell I had ever known,
Yet he only smiled peacefully.

The only words that left his mouth were,
"In the mighty name of Jesus."

Suddenly I was driven by the wind,
Overtaken by a force I could not explain.
Now lost in the world of madness
Insanity was all that remained.
A Nebuchadnezzar’s curse, unable to examined

Take it from me: ninety-nine days belong to the thief,
But one day belongs to the Master, the Lord of Host.
You may think your power has no equal,
In a twinkling of an eye you’ll be humbled by the Holy Ghost

So I say to you today, turn away from the devil,
And turn to God before it is too late.
I once had it all, no one can stand against me,
Now I'm trapped within my mind, awaiting Hade's Gate
