Drugs: A Life Wasted.

Drugs and substance use, a dark abyss,
Where one's life can quickly go amiss,
With each hit, a temporary escape,
But in the end, a heavy price to pay.
The highs are high, but the lows are low,
As the addiction tightens its grip, oh so slow,
Life becomes a shadow, a mere reflection,
Of what it once was, a distant recollection.
The mind becomes cloudy, the heart grows cold,
As the body withers, and the spirit grows old,
Friends and family become strangers,
And life, once full of color, becomes grayer.
The drugs, once a source of pleasure,
Now a never-ending cycle of pressure,
To find the next hit, the next high,
As the soul slowly withers and dies.
But hope is never truly lost,
For even in the darkest of nights, there is a cost,
To the pain, the suffering, and the strife,
And a chance to reclaim one's life.
So let us be vigilant, let us be aware,
Of the dangers of drugs, and the damage they can bear,
And let us never forget, the precious gift we hold,
Of life, of love, and of a future to unfold.
