The ducks are active tonight
Quacking just beyond my sight
Sounds like many are excited
Perhaps they are just elated
Swimming in the lake freely
Floating as they get sleepy
Napping on top of the water
Resting until they feel better
Many tough it out over winter
Braving air that's cold and bitter
The others fly to warmer climate
They are the plane and the pilot
