Refreshment of soul comes the month of significance,
Blessing upon opportunity, cherishing the momentary tense,
Repentance and grace, deeds and duties we search for guidance,
Time around, Ramadan once more rejuvenates the individual sense.
Iconic is the unity of the ummah in this time,
Intentions of optimism, avoidance of crime,
The recognition of our given patience, Lord is prime,
Deeper acknowledgement of the world, creation is sublime.
Standing solid, mind set on the powerful night,
Prayer and connection, Lord is called, soul beaming with light,
Cherish Satans misfortune, locked in, rational choice on what is right,
Hence "fasting was prescribed for you", from God, greatest of might.
The month of unexceptional submission,
Set our minds on achievement, deen is the vision,
Judgemental, none, carry our own significant mission,
Inferior selves, pray for wish to be granted, Lord's permission.
Pause the hatred, no judgement,
Quran is the word on the street, heaven it was sent,
Reach a new level in ones deen, the character of Muhammad (saw) is what I meant,
Incomparable to his ummah, we can only be the best of them.
"Religion in this day is likened to holding a hot piece of coal",
The month of revolutionary character, steer clear of the black hole,
Cry to the words of decree, A beautified soul,
Anger and intolerance to others, we must control.
Bad habits - smoking, obscenity, tunes, drinking,
Disrespect, arrogance, this month have you thinking,
Tears of regret, shoulder weight had you sinking,
Create change, build your empire, be your own king.
1439, a year of bliss, God's plan,
Alhamdulillah, blessed with a second chance,
Praying for a place amongst the best, we can,
May you become greater, and be blessed with good will, in this month of Ramadan.
