Lost in life's desolate expanse,
We chase illusions on barren lands.
Compass broken, true north unknown,
Where in our hearts, can home be found?
A yearning for return, forgotten hometown,
Whispers softly through endless wandering.
Perhaps some find old footprints anew,
While I, still adrift, can't break through.
The path ahead, a hazy maze,
Will light be found, or shadows embrace?
Journey's end, fate's decree,
A destiny of dust, for all to see.
Whether a path to return is found or not,
Beauty fades, our bodies to rot.
All things to silence, life's final stand,
