Rage against dying light.
In Dylan's lines, a call to fight
Against the fading of our might
To rage, rage against the night
And burn and rave with all our sight
For old age may come to us all
But it need not make us fall
We can stand tall and make our call
To live each day as if our all
The wise may see the coming dark
And know the end is soon to mark
But still they do not meekly hark
To death's cold and silent embark
The good men who have passed their prime
May lament their lost, wasted time
But still they raise their voices high
And in the face of death they defy
Wild men who've chased the sun above
May find they've lost it with their love
But they will not go gentle, shove
Against the dying of the light, they'll move
The grave men, near their last breath
May see the world with eyes of death
But even then they'll strive to wrest
Their final moments from death's behest
And then there's you, my father dear
Whose fierce tears I long to hear
Curse or bless, but please be clear
Rage, rage against the dying, never fear
So let us heed Dylan's call to fight
Against the dying of our light
And burn and rave with all our might
Until we've conquered death's dark night.
