Every Easter I buy a Creme Egg Easter egg
(1 Easter egg and 2 Creme Eggs regular size)
In the run up I eat the 2 Creme Eggs
Then I save the Easter egg for Easter Sunday
And a part of me can't help but think
"Maybe this year"
And my mind's eye pictures
A tea towel bib and a soup spoon
Chocolate fingers and fondant face
All because decades ago
A kid at school said he got one
(He didn't) 99% of me knows this
But that 1% will forever be
A disappointed optimist
