There was a garden
Spry, as was coming of age,
I spent much of my time there
Basking in it's rays
A Kingdom botanical
Made for aesthetics
Not so industrial
As the rest of land
Stripped beneath my feet had been
This garden was different
For the beauty twas displayed
Above all the nonsense
From the Keepers
They would shower
Flowers of every sort
"I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE"
But one special number
Stood out to me at that time
A special certain Rose
She was one of a kind
The garden was so at ease
One couldn't so easily tell
This special kind of Rose
Was cloaked tightly behind a veil
In the center of the garden
The Keepers showcased her
But for their one special Rose
No one could go near.
And in all my time there,
In the coming of age,
I had not know where
Those screams could be traced
The garden was all so silent, you see
The truth about the Rose
Was belied by serenity.
And don't ask the Keepers
That's another story to tell
When you no longer see the place
Where the Rose screamed to get out
Behind that dark veil...
"Peace", that lot still feigns
And the rays have dried up
All what's left of that garden
That still remains
...
Only embers of youth.
