emotion's

They're called emotions — they've got a name,
But are they me if they make me change?
I feel this rage, I’m not the same,
A fire inside I can’t contain.
Sadness creeps in like a midnight tide,
Pulls me under where the shadows hide.
I try to swim, I try to pray,
But the weight won’t lift — I drift away.
Fear is a whisper, sharp and low,
Telling me things I don't want to know.
It steals my breath, it shakes my hands,
And suddenly nothing goes as planned.
Anxiety screams in a silent room,
Painting the walls with impending doom.
It tells me run, but I freeze instead,
Alive on the outside, but half of me’s dead.
I smile. I nod. I play the game.
But deep inside, I'm not the same.
I watch myself like a stranger might —
Just out of reach, just out of sight.
Am I the storm or the one it breaks?
Am I the truth or just the fake?
These feelings twist, they blur the frame...
So who am I, beneath the flame?
