empty

I've grown into hypothermia
Knowing it couldn't fade
my standards of cold changed me
the cracks from your breaths
stolen by my echos
As the winter tightened around my throat
When the absence of warmth
welcomed my skin
I clutched my chest
My lungs burned in despair
I released myself into the wind
Or
What was left of me
I have become the flakes
Forming the mound
As I wait for the gleam that stings the eye
The dread of questioning endurance
The consistent ache
That accompanies winter
