We all used to tease you about always being in your chair,
Now we all wish you were still there.
Seeing your space empty, with your unfinished puzzle,
Never hearing your constant shuffle again.
This is something we all now must entertain.
You were in the navy when you met nan,
and then the love story truely began.
Years later you had 2 beautiful daughters,
who then gave you grandsons and granddaughters.
Family meant the world to you,
You were a man of few words but we all knew,
Each of us have special memories and moments,
But now our family is missing a very special component.
In your later years, you may have slowed down,
but you were still our grump who sometimes acted like a clown.
So now your gone, and your chair remains empty,
We as a family only have memories, but don't worry grandad we have plenty!
This is not goodbye its goodnight,
You will be that star that shines so bright
Looking down on us all, and no doubt laughing when one of us falls.
We love you grandad, and remember we will keep your chair warm!
