Your caffeine addiction blended bizzare
With your smoke laden lips-
Now a shade-myriad times pallid.
And pallid still- our once halcyon dreams.
Packs - 3 per day or even more?
Oblivious- I've lost count.
We were parallels ,unaware of an intersection.
But then coffee happened
And brew a love- hoodwinked.
I would have been petrified of glasses
Had I known you were made of them
And it's shards'd carved scars
Deep into my fair skin.
Your lips tasted of forevers and coffee,
Before it tasted of smoke.
Why you changed I never knew.
The coffee dates remained lacklustre-
My cup and your ash tray.
You- my peace once and now my chaos.
Words unfathomable absconded with difficulty from your lips now grey .
I still loved the hurricane in your eyes.
But the Universe in your heart-you failed to let me explore.
I bled love ,eager to merge into your veins
And all I found were closed doors.
5 packs I found the other night,
Tacit I crawled and threw them into the garage dump, among the fish bones .
I'd envisioned your irked face before,
Austere you were, but left me baffled
For silence you chose.
But you stopped drinking coffee with me
Like old times, on the balcony.-
2 cups and a pot.
Now I sit alone, with empty coffee cups
While you sit puffing smoke.
