A shade is suppose to be a place where you can shelter
or a place where you can glow
But my shade is something deeper
that brings more darkness than light
When I asked for a little shelter
all I get is a little more wet
so can you bring me a little more deeper
so I can see what comes next
I want more peace than sorrow
I want to feel what's love
I want to be a hopeful beckon
that encouraged and gentle as a dove
So please make me that beckon
and let that empty shade glow
for when it glows
all my midnight darkness will shine bright as a bow.
