End of the summer by Ben Fisher

Flickering candles slowly die out.
A smoky emptiness whispering conversations of the lavish feast of the night before.
A curtain slightly ajar and the sun leaving her mark.
Husky coughs, muttering murmurs, slow life moves and stretches.
Daunting tasks lay ahead but met head on
Bottled clink to a red wine stink
Mouths dry water parched voices appear to break through the dawn.
Time to go and walk the walk through a streetlight of emptiness.
