What happened to the England that I knew?
When fields were fields and skies were blue
People cared for each other black or white
People were always friendly and also polite
My England I once knew is getting no better
Winters are getting colder and summers are getting wetter
Poverty on the increase and waiting lists on the rise
Some of the things I notice I just can't believe my eyes
England my England it's so very sad to see
A once proud nation disintegrating so rapidly
I only hope my country improves one day
And all these bad things will disappear and go away
