His throne stood vibrant,
Standing in his flames,
My divinity fell silent.
He studied my wings,
I felt his hands of restraint,
He watched my hate bleed,
And fell in love with the stain.
I offered my halo,
And brought him a symphony,
He pillaged my trust,
And replaced it with calamity.
The mirrors unearthed my imperfections,
And the beauty grew from insanity,
For I swallowed his pride,
And choked on the serenity.
I basked in the toxicity,
And let it consume with fluidity,
As it attached to its host,
It adapted platonically.
His name was enigma,
I was in love with darkness,
I know he left me broken,
But that was always his promise.
