They, the ones on the other side of the schorching line,
The ones who don't offer, God, a bottle of wine,
The ones we are taught to hate,
Yes, the ones we abuse before we have met:
They are tired of this treacherous society,
They are tired of embracing every man-made calamity
They pine with a wan smile on their face,
Tired of fighting, against the troubles, for ages
The line drawn between us and them is never ending:
Yet the reason behind it is still bewildering;
Since the age of one or two a child is taught to hate them,
For marriage a family will accept any religion but not them.
They are framed of being vicious and dangerous:
When both us and them are quite analogous
I don't understand the difference between us and them-
After all we all are God's children!
If we follow our religion and worship Krishna,
They too have faith on their Allah;
Just as we celebrate Janmashtami and Durga Puja,
They do E-id worshipping their Allah
If we marry taking seven vows or promises,
For them, Qubul is the word, a couple says;
Like Gita is our book of worship,
They read Namahaz before going to sleep;
Just as we say marriage as বিয়ে or vivah,
They rename it saying nikaah;
If we use iconic kajal to look more attractive,
They apply surma- a product that's primitive;
Even they have family and friends like us,
Then why for them life is so facetious?
They laugh and cry and love just as we do,
Then why can't they live without futher ado?
Please stop hating the whole religion for some counted ones,
'Cause it's from you what your child learns;
Stop discriminating people on the basis of Islam and Christianity,
Instead believe in humanity!
Stop drawing a line between us and them for nothing,
As like us each one of them is a human being...
