EVIL AND IGNORANCE BY E I VICTOR
Under the night skies they were
The moon bears me withness
So do the stars
I saw them
Great, powerful, rich , famous and influential men
They were movers and shakers
People from different walks of life
They were eating and drinking
Celebrating the ignorance and folly of men who have sworn allegiance to them
But on the morrow
As soon as the sun opened her eyes
We saw these men speaking against each other
Poisoning the hearts of their followers
Planting seeds of discord
They were brainwashing the masses
Inciting the common man
And deceiving innocent souls
Taking advantage of their ignorance
At noon,
We saw nothing but blood flowing freely
Sounds of guns filled our ears
The results of men's labour vanished into thin air
Brothers were busy fighting themselves
In the evening
When the sun finally closed her eyes
And went off duty
These evil men came presenting peanuts to the people who they have deceived
They claimed they were helping them
They came looking like saints and angels
Shedding crocodile tears
And the common men kept singing their praises
At night
When the moon awoke from her slumber
Resuming duty
She saw exactly what she saw the night before
The evil men were partying
The same evil men who were speaking against each other
The moon kept sobbing
From her eyes I could tell that she's yearning for a day when things will change for the better
