Failing Heart

Time was running out and my heart froze
Chilled over in the heat of the impending
A tight squeeze strained my body further
I clenched my chest in intense agony
The world around me spun uncontrollably
Coworkers in the distant became mind numbing blurs
My arms failed, becoming numb and unresponsive
A sharp ringing warned of that fatal occurance
I could hardly hear the concerned voices
As I collapsed to the cold marble floor
Florescent lights were the last thing I saw
Before my heart stopped and my body gave out
Days later I awoke, thankful for another chance given
The doctors examined me thoroughly
Giving me the synopsis of the traumatic event
They said I had a massive heart attack
Stating how blessed I am to be alive
Telling me the reality of a weak heart
And the precautions I will have to live with till death tries its hand
Time seemingly ran out, but has now resumed again
