My tears, streaming down like heavenly spears
Every drop, thick as blood, encapsulating your last words to my ears!
As you slumber in that everlasting night
Your words will shine through my life,
Your silent heartbeat, will lead me through the cold breeze, and storms of hatred, from this fallen world!
I don't know the afterlife,
I don't know what happens when the lamp stops shining!
But you've taught me to treasure the candle of my soul,
And how finite the light is,
preparing me to welcome the night, when the light's gone!
And here I am today,with all your classes in mind;
The golden gifts you've left me behind!
You've taught me how to listen to the songs of nature,
To allow my spirit be lifted by the silence of trees, and the sounds of the oceans
But my tears still,
Reflecting my silent pain,
pain so discreet that my body can't even feel;
Seeming so unreal,so absent, and so distant
Yet so present!
You've painted beautiful images of the world, with your words!
But never once, have I tried to imagine the sun shining upon a world without you!
So many voices in the world, but yours is missing, why?
All night long,I waited for the fallen star,to rise again!
Weeping silently,at this unfathomable pain!
There you were, cold as a frozen steel, swallowed by that coffin,
Smiling,
and not blinking even once, as though beholding light for the last time!
I stood alongside wondering,
if those red widely opened eyes were sculptured by nature's endearing splendour,
Or in fear,were they forged?
I'd like to believe my theory,
A theory that exalts you above death
Cause your smile never left you, even in death!
You saw the path unfold before your eyes,
You beheld the gates open wide, and your spirit was lifted from this world!
But I am still here,
Wandering about the earth, with your words as my light,
I've held on to them since birth!
I have seen your life, rise up into the heaven's
Until your very end,
Your reverence for God,has been unconventionally odd!
And your boldness in the face of death, has been unprecedented since!
This is my beginning, as a boy refined in the furnace of fallen stars,
Moulded by pain,of losing someone who made the darkness of this world, worthy of embrace!
I would have died in the long night!
I fed my lamp with oil,
maintaining light, because in your words you've said, and i quote,"the night is as long as the day!"
