Father

You caused me lots of pain,
although I forgave you,
I will never forget.
all the words that were said,
that stabbed me in the heart like a thousand knives.
The times that I stayed up all night,
worried about whether you were safe or not.
Those drunken episodes you'd have,
I'd help you get to your bed.
You made me feel worthless,
Like I was nothing.
At times I was scared of you,
because you were so loud and temperamental.
You made me form trust issues with men,
but, I'm more aware of how guys act,
thanks to you.
I love you, because you're my father,
but I will never forget how you made me feel every fucking day and night.
You were supposed to be a role model to me,
but you were a bully towards me,
You still don't realize that.
I know they say to forgive,
but fuck that, I can't forgive you for what you put me through as a teenager.
