I saw a baseball & a glove on the outside-table today.
Usually, you're vocal, in all things your able to say.
7 days away from your birthday, I figure I dedicate..
A few words that you deserve, without having to fabricate.
Thank you for being loyal to my mother.
You worked hard to keep her happy, unlike no other.
You cooked & jogged with her, so both of you stayed in shape.
Never argued over petty reasons, exemplifying amazing grace.
Nobody's perfect, but you displayed a great example.
And when you had time you gave me some, you always make ample.
You made sure I reached my highest potential.
That's why I'm so driven now & shine exponential.
You wanted me to do & be better, made sure I focused on my talent.
You believed in me, that's why I'm married with children, living in a mansion.
There's no way I could call you self-absorbed.
Reaching out during your retirement phase, you helped me soar.
How impossible it is, for me to make excuses.
Not a single point in your life, we're you ever fake or useless.
That attributes to my resiliency.
You kept your heart pure & your mind-filtered, character is what you instilled in me.
That's why it's easy, for me to be responsible.
Never blamed for your dissatisfaction, a commendable purpose was plausible.
You invested in me, put your happiness below mine.
That's why I want to return the blessings willingly, bestowing rhymes.
It was never about the money, never let me feel left out & hungry.
Hardly anything I said was true, but the thought has to count for something.
