Fictional Beauty. Fictional Love

Fictional Beauty. Fictional Love
"When I look at him, I see perfection.
When I look at him, I see my future.
He is the perfect man.
the man I’ve always wanted,
the man I want,
and the man I know I will always want.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t exist.

Why do all beautiful things have to be fictional?
Why are all my beauties fictional?

If they were real, I think I would die.
But perhaps it’s better that way.
Because I know it’s fictional, I’m not that hurt.

I tell myself that if he were real, if he truly existed, it would have been him and me.
That’s what I keep telling myself.

But if he truly existed, and I tried,
and I took my chance,
and I were rejected,
I would have been heartbroken.
I would have felt my world crumble.

So maybe, in some way, it’s better that they stay fiction.
Because that way, I can still have hope."
