Fish Bowl

Stuck in the fish bowl,
Looking outward from inside,
Believing in a freedom,
This fish bowl hide,

I swim freely here,
Convincingly unaware of the rapture,
Playing out a tragic story,
Where your love is the stage and I'm the capture,

All my efforts,
All my strain,
I ignore so that I never,
Have to realize the pain,

That I'm stuck,
This fish bowl is my home,
And I gladly remain here,
So I can tell myself I'm not alone,

Thought I know I am,
I'm alone in confined spaces,
Breathing only on the hopes,
You'll feed me some graces,

The smallest of fishes,
In an even smaller fish bowl,
Placed here once I loved you,
Since then you've always had control.
