Flawed Man

Flawed Man

It's wrong of me to admit,
but I'm tired of pretending to be someone I'm not.
I'm exhausted from hiding the truth from you, from myself.
The truth is, I'm flawed, I'm broken, and I'm not the good person I've been trying to convince you I am.

I'm ashamed of the lies I've told, the secrets I've kept, and the pain I've caused.
I'm ashamed of the person I've become, and the choices I've made.
I'm ashamed of hurting you, of betraying your trust, and of shattering the love we shared.

I don't expect forgiveness, nor do I deserve it.
I don't expect you to take me back, or to love me again.
But I hope that someday, you'll be able to see me for who I truly am, a broken and flawed individual, who's desperately seeking redemption.

I'll spend the rest of my days trying to make amends, trying to heal the wounds I've inflicted, and trying to become a better version of myself.
I'll do this, not because I expect to earn your forgiveness, but because I need to forgive myself.
