B

Flowers and Frustration.

The flowers in the yard, they glow so bright
But I despise them with all my might
As much as I loathe the act of pleasure
That leaves me feeling empty, without measure
A man's lips, sealing my own
His body paralyzing, turning my bones to stone
The cries that escape, so humiliating
A union that leaves me feeling suffocating
In my mind, a question and answer fuse
Creating a sound that relentlessly pursues
Splitting into old selves, tired animosity
Making us both fools, lacking in positivity
The scent of mock orange drifts through the air
A fragrance that fills me with despair
How can I rest, how can I find peace
When that odor still lingers, refusing to cease?
The flowers in the yard, they may light up the night
But I cannot find solace in their sight
For they remind me of the pain and the strife
Of a love that left me feeling empty, without life.
