Nyerere was a genius,
He was a father and a leader,
Development is what his visions can trigger,
Nyerere knew the consequences,
That European education had no sense,
It was there for destruction and not to save,
Nyerere wanted scholars to be self reliant,
They must gain skills and develop creative minds,
They must enlighten development for the betterment of human kind.
Nyerere's vision on education failed,
Studying to be employed is where our curriculum laid,
Our scholars depend on the government to be paid,
We have higher literacy rate it is said,
But what's the impact?
If graduates still depend on their parents,
If graduate lack skills to generate money,
If graduates fail to help and become burdens,
If graduates stay at home chatting from Monday to Sunday,
"We are waiting for jobs",
They will always defend themselves,
But they are foolish educated minds.
