Lonely and cold, on this foreboding road, where am I heading? I am treading on unknown ground. But I'm just too tired to care, so I'll just let go and go with the flow, even though I feel so low. I put on my mask so the truth doesn't show. Oh, how I crave love and light, like a chain smoker deprived of nicotine. How I wish I could return to when I was just a teen, to the only love I've ever known. Her strawberry blonde hair was like cozy golden warmth on a winter's eve. As the hands of time passed by, she did indeed leave. She left words unsaid, like the ending of a story left unread, and inside my heart, all my feelings had fled, never to return. Many years later, my soul feels just as dead. Lost, shrouded in darkness, I continue down this foreboding road.
