Love is what you always showed making me laugh watching me grow
You always were fascinated with everything around you insects and all following the rattlesnakes even when they wanted to bite you just stood back taking pictures of every site you always amazed me Grandpa the way your mind was always straightforward telling it like it is
Even when I was so bad you did not hold it over my head did not hold me back my direction in life the choices I made reflected on everything that you gave I remember the days when we go up to the store me walking back with stuffed animals galore
Giving me your words of wisdom telling me I can do it that God never put anything in my path that I could not take on but when you left this world so fast this is something that I may not get over because I know that it will last even when I am afraid I think of your grandpa and Grandma the nights that I slept in between you two were always the memories that made my life not so blue I'll carry you in my heart I'll do right by you
I'll walk the path of righteousness and when I feel that it's too much I'll close my eyes and think of you. when I thought it wasn't worthy of love or had nothing to offer you told me that it does not matter what I had it only mattered to stand by each other's side both as equals and he will love me for everything that I am to not let my heart get bitter to forgive those who hurt me you always were good at taking pictures and recording videos I got that from you
I know how to love myself because of you and Grandma it never mattered what I did or where I was you always were there like the angel above so I say goodbye for now but it's not the end I will be with you grandpa when you look for me in heaven I'll be looking too and once I find you I'm going to run with all my might giving you a hug and holding you tight and thanking God for us being together again and making things right
I know I'll never be the same till then but
I know I will give my pain to the Lord
I promise Grandpa that you will see me at heavens door so we can be together once more
