She sits there staring into space
Trying to remember her loved ones, the ones she has to face.
With questions she doesn't know how to answer, the old forgotten ways.
They will sit and stare but with the utmost care.
But she will feel like she's with strangers
And the feeling of sudden danger.
She holds her head and tries to wipe back the tears.
She will carry a mind that's broken, and so many fears.
Everyone loves and misses her, but the feelings are not the same.
Maybe because her dementia has taken a big part of her brain.
Times that don't exist anymore is where she thinks she is.
People around her remind her of a face from the past, ones that she missed.
She walks around in circles because she is lost.
Her life is in danger, she is paying the cost.
Frightened in her own existence and hearing the sounds of yesterday.
She runs through the streets, never feeling okay.
Feeling exhausted all the time
Tired in her own body, never feeling fine.
The turmoil she's been through
The dangers she never knew.
Ghosts from the past haunt her down.
Telling her the time is now that her body will slowly die with all her memories around.
Her mind can finally rest and she can close her eyes.
Peace was all around and her heart has finally stopped , what a peaceful sound.
