I thought it was bliss
But soon I was trapped

Their ego was enormous
Their love was just for show
They only cared about themselves
My feelings they didn't know
I tried to please and appease
To be the perfect mate
But nothing was ever enough
Their demands didn't abate
I lost myself in their shadow
My own needs pushed aside
I gave and gave until I broke
And then I finally realized
That love with a narcissist
Is a one-way street
A game where they always win
And I always face defeat
So I walked away from their grasp
And found my way back to me
I learned to love myself again
And now I'm finally free.
