freehand thunderman

wake up there's a roar of thunder
as if god had yelled himself
the rumble felt
the window
and shook it,
pushed my bed to open my eyes
and told my dogs to howl and hide,
picked up the barrier of sound and broke it,
shakes us
the course is unsure
how to follow the shallow breaths digging in to our limitless sky
expecting to see a mushroom cloud to follow the boom when you walk outside,
you grab the handle at the red front door
and open it
to the sun shine.
