Friendship (Part One) jealousy

Friendship (Part One) jealousy
A sheep cannot attract a goat,
and a goat cannot attract a sheep—

a mentality I once had.

My win
was supposed to be our win.

But to you,
my win was your loss,

and your win
was my win.

Two best friends
on the same ship—

but somewhere along the way,
competition became real.

I stayed up all night,
building in silence.

You stayed up too,
but not the same way.

I was ready to share
my knowledge and ideas—

you never shared yours.

I thought I knew you.

But you were a lie
I told myself.

I defended you—
even when I shouldn’t have.

You were my biggest competitor,

while I was your biggest supporter.

Now I have grown.

And I see clearly
what I should have seen before.

I wish you were never my friend—

so you would have never
become my competition.

Because you always celebrated
those above you…

just never me.
