FRIENEMIES

They take the guise of good fellows
But all they are after, is to send you to the gallows
Steal your glows
And give you deathly blows
They pretend their plan is for you to rise
But to your greatest surprise
Of these, it does not comprise
Rather, theirs is a pull-down enterprise
Dedicated to your incarceration,
Interested solely in your incineration
They pretend they yearn for your proliferation,
You grant them access for infiltration.
Into your inner chambers, they come
Make you feel at home
They take the guise of a garden-gnome
Smiling at you and making you feel decorated and awesome
But the minute you turn the opposite direction
They begin an insurrection
Against your every section
They begin a dissection
When you are down, they smile
When you are up, they frown but only for a while
Giving them just enough time to burst the bile
And run you down bitterness’s isle
Exact representation of sweet maleficence
You consider them to be persons of beneficence
But beyond that fake smile lies a traitor with diligence
For bringing down they have resilience
With their camouflage countenance, they are impossible to espy
They make you feel incorrect, for wanting to untie
You suddenly feel like you would die
If you ever such an act try
You never know who they are in particular.
What’s more? They are frienemies
Free enemies
You never have to do a thing to get them for yourself
