FROM THE TIDE TO THE MOON. There were days when we played…

FROM THE TIDE TO THE MOON.
There were days when we played shirtless,
but we were not hopeless.
Days when we daily trekked to fetch water from our village streams,
As we tightly held unto our dreams.
We actually didn't own benz,
but we happily played as friends.
Although we hadn't won any awards on our shelves,
We still supported and motivated ourselves.
Our trousers and shirts weren't owned in sets,
but we lived life with no regrets.
Sometimes we got emotionally dead,
in pursuit of our daily bread,
But because we were determined to mount up the stage,
We hugged our fate, and signed to pass through the blade.
We therefore said no to hate; for we were destined to be great.
And we knew that life is never too late; so we were not in haste,
to drive luxurious cars or to become stars.
But we fisted to clear our scars so that we may smoothly go farther,
With life into our promised land,
With no blood on our hands.
We instead sacrificed our time,
dreaming our lives to embrace the shining light even in the night,
as in sweating pants, we worked and read past our bed time;
hopeful to catapult our lives to another reasonable height.
And now that we're here,
We will look back and point to where,
we stood the test of times through rough tides;
to embrace ourselves here over the moon.
