S

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD

No matter how far
    . . . No matter how fast
No matter how long
    . . . You can't outrun your past
It is yours, and yours alone
    . . . To possess and own
Not even the omnipotent
. . . In all His power and wisdom
Can make that that once was
. . . As though it had never been
There's no reaching for the future
. . . While clinging to the past
Look too long in the rearview
    . . . And you're going to crash
            . . . There's no future in the
                        past
The landscape is everchanging
    . . . As time marches on
I wander through the night
    . . . Searching for the dawn
Evil lurks in the darkness
. . . Shadows dance in the light
The mind will play its trickery
. . . And the heart will have to
               fight
We fear the shadows
. . . That lie before our plight
But they serve only to remind us
. . . We are not abandoned to the
               night
For, where there's a shadow
    . . . There's a light
Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death
    . . . I shall not fear
        . . . I do not walk alone
As a new day dawns
    . . . I am blinded by the light
The truth that is revealed
. . . When the Son is in your eyes
I am not forsakend
    . . . But forgiven
I am not condemned
    . . . But redeemed
I am not abandoned
    . . . But adopted
I am a son
. . . A son of the only living God
Yesterday has come and gone
    . . . 'Carpe Diem'
        . . . I shall seize the day
I am not a victim of who I was
. . . But the pursuer of all that I
               shall become
So, once again, I turn my eyes
. . . To the path that lies ahead
Perfection is the direction
    . . . Not the destination
So its onward, foreword, upward
    . . . In pursuit of destiny
I venture into the great unknown
. . . To the very precipice of me
Standing on the edge
    . . . New horizons do I see
As I peer into the morrow
    . . . I glimpse eternity
          . . .  'Carpe Diem' . . .
