Fuel poverty 17/09/2018 written by me Karla McDonagh
Winter is near
The days become night
My babies cold
I am hungry
My brain has lost a hopeless fight
Morning dawns
My baby won't eat
A little pale face
Outside a frosty white
Little did I know my child would be diagnosed with hypothermia that night.
What went wrong I did all I could do
I chose to feed us
An extra blanket would see us fru.
Payday arrives I pay my bills
I buy a little food
Stand and watch my money drop into the tills
Knowing there is no spare money
Again I chose to be eating
I will double up on the blankets
I can't afford heating...
Fuel poverty needs to be beaten.
