In London was like heaven

Made the home change
A little too young then
To find the change strange
A village hoping school bus
Higher Hollocombe to Chulmleigh
The coach was from the 50's
The service I think was free
A fair bit of land
And outbuildings too
A smithy and a sawmill
And a garage that was new
Other buildings too
Some were falling down
On the edge of Dartmoor
And 8 miles from a town
A garden and an orchard
Parking room out front
For adventurous children
A real treasure hunt
I spent a lot of time
On the farm next door
Driving tractors for me
Was fantastic not a chore
Five thousand pounds
Was a lot back then
How much is it worth now
Times a hundred and ten?
