Wake up alone,
To the sound of an alarm
Walk out in the rain,
And no one's on your arm
Dinner on the stove is cooking,
And there's only one plate set out
A movie on the TV is playing,
With only a blanket wrapped around yourself
We are free,
And we are happy
There's no fingerprints to shake us in the morning
No kiss with a spin in the rain
No candle lit dinner with spaghetti
And no one to share a blanket with,
When the window is frosted with flakes
We tell ourselves we love our own company
But deep down, we all know,
We aren't free,
We are just alone
