End of the day, in 6th grade art class.
There's only a couple of months left in the school year,
yet you transferred and were the new kid.
The teacher introduced you and you silently sat in your new assigned seat- behind me.
Everyday I would walk in smiling at you,
hoping you would notice,
my face becoming a flushed pink everytime we made eye contact.
I thought about you all summer and sent you a friend request on Myspace.
As the new year started we messaged each other every day and sat together on the bus.
You never made fun of my wildly curly hair,
or my thick eyebrows.
I didn't mind your bright orange hair or your freckles.
I didn't even mind that you were only 5 feet tall.
When you asked me out, I felt so drunk- without even knowing what drunk felt like.
It was amazing.
You gave me your football Jersey and I wore it every day just to smell like you.
You brought me my favorite candies to eat on the bus and would always save me a seat.
Then one day as you were leaving,
you leaned over and kissed me real fast,
before quite literally running away.
I felt so warm.
I felt even warmer when you texted me asking if you missed my mouth.
You met my parents once,
and that was fun.
But after three months we called it off,
and you started dating all my friends.
