The beauty of it is enjoyed in the land of the living

For the turkey we are thankful and trimming too
But by chance, turkey unavailable, chicken Will do

some memories of goodtimes,some we've kept for long
A list of thanks, at risk of becoming boring
thanks for all of our lives ones of whom we find adoring
Be grateful for taste touch and tone of voice
Surely you must know of the quality we have no choice
No need of thanks for sun moon rain or even snow
Those we will have regardless we should know
We give thanks for our existence of which surely will end
However thank goodness only our maker knows when
Therefore when in a hurry and allowed to break ranks
Don't forget to give a big smile and say thanks
