Yesterday I was dreaming, I woke up dead. With today’s dawning, I woke up in the morning, in my own bed. Summer dawning upon me, ghosts shadow the streets, I can no longer hide under the sheets. The summer sun is dawning, I can’t waste another second in my head. For soon I will be dead, found in my bed next to my ashtray, bound as one.
Summer’s all around me, can finally shake winter from my weary head. Eyes like windows, blink too fast they’ll shatter like glass. Lack of colour is all around me, I couldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it. Before the sun stops shining, I’ll be walking with the dead, in my head, I hold no dread.
For the loss of everything around me, I turn my gaze to only what I can see. Glass covered eyes, never suspected they mirrored so many lies. I no longer confide in that solid state mind, for sure it would have been a crime to continue drifting from my timeline. Ghosts are all around me, they suspect I’m already dead, that's why they mourn by my bed.
Tomorrow should I wake from dreaming, I will continue believing that even though the garden is so, it doesn't make it grow by a shady window. Frosted panel of glass has graffiti scrawled across it, some kind of message from a year long passage. Hashtag love will always outlast any kind of blast.
Today I woke up before the sun, racking my brain why the dream couldn’t last. But just like the past, memories for me won’t follow me down the streets I intend to preach, the words from such a speech have vanished from my reach, it seems as though the wind blows, carrying its relics from the past. Much the same as you, breathless and on the outside of my window.
