We cry out to the heavens,
To a God we do not know,
We search for answers in the gaps,
Where knowledge does not go.
We weave our tales and myths,
To explain what is unknown,
But our stories only hide,
The truths that are not shown.
We say God is in the gaps,
The places science can't explain,
But when we look more closely,
We see only human pain.
For in these gaps of ignorance,
We find disease and strife,
Death and suffering rampant,
In the absence of all life.
So let us not rely on God,
To fill the gaps we see,
For in these empty spaces,
There is only tragedy.
