I once tried to hold it in,
And build up a thick skin.
It worked for sixteen years,
No one knew about my tears.
It worked that is, until it didn't...
I don't remember much,
Just waking up in a hospital,
Couldn't breath, excruciating pain, and such.
I was told to keep it a secret,
And I tried hard to forget,
But something was eating me
Inside out.
I had to confirm my doubts.
So one day I googled it,
In my horror, beheld it.
My biggest fear was true
My whole life had been a lie-
everything I knew.
Why did they treat me like this?
All this time I thought I knew what love is.
I'm tryin so hard to forgive and let go
But this pain is all I know.
"God, into Thine hands I commend my spirit,
For they know not what they do."
Forgive me, give me grace to see,
So that one day I can spend eternity with You.
So what's the moral of my life's story?
God's got a plan. When you can't, He can.
He will carry you through the flames,
If you will just seek His NAME.
