It’s true that my world has long been broken
and as my parents like to often say
we’re so sorry we can’t help you, son
but as always we will certainly pray.
Open up your closed mind my youngest son
and see how so many others care for you.
But the devoted christians of whom I speak
will expect you to do what they want you to.
Now I’ve been down this road before
when I thought I loved the Christian god.
Then he took everything from me and my family
and left me feeling like a fraud.
I’m so tired of those who claim to “love” me
acting like there’s something wrong with me
and telling me that if I don’t change myself
I would live in hell for all of eternity.
I don’t know where their god is coming from
because I would never hurt a child of mine.
If my child needed me to help her in life
I'd be protecting her just to see her shine.
I would never send my child to an everlasting hell
so pause and ask what your god would do
and if you find that you can’t figure it out then
think of who you are and what he’s done to you.
Chances are that you’ll eventually realize
that the best thing that you can effectively do
is to love your children first and let them know
that your love for them will always be true.
