If I die tomorrow
This might bring in short sorrow
Let mama know that I am sorry
Peace be in her heart let her not worry
Let her know I tried my best
She once told me life is all a test
Tell her it’s okay to cry
And she should never ask the creator why
Let her know she had a grand daughter
The best gift I could have brought her
Tell her that her smile looks the same
I even gave her your name
Let her know I was patient
Even though I was not that obedient
Her prayers always kept me alive
She taught me how to survive
Let her know I never went to church
But God’s grace saw me through and that’s much
Most times it was hilly many valleys I had to cross
My demise let her not count it as a loss
